Bromley
Rated No. 1 in North America for family ski programs by SKI magazine. Summit elevation: 3,284 feet; vertical drop: 1,334 feet; acreage: 300; lifts: 10; terrain parks: 3; distance from the resort: 7 miles.

Stratton
Featuring the highest peak in southern Vermont, home to the lifts and terrain parks rated No. 1 in SKI magazine’s 2003 Reader Resort Survey. Summit elevation: 3,875 feet; vertical drop: 2,003 feet; acreage: 583; lifts: 16; terrain parks: 5; distance from the resort: 17 miles.

Equinox Preservation Trust

A nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and wise use of the wild plants on Equinox Mountain. From Equinox Pond and its gentle trails to rugged heights of stunted fir and spruce, the mountain has a stunning variety of natural habitats and places to wander. The trails — with varying terrain and difficulty — are maintained by the EPT and offer great hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
