Equinox Resort Artisan Market

Hooked on the Holidays at American Museum of Fly Fishing – Saturday, December 7th

One of the prettiest buildings in Manchester Village is home to an unmatched collection (the largest in the world, in fact) of rods, reels, flies, tackle, art, photographs, manuscripts, and more. Exhibits document the evolution of fly fishing in the United States and abroad, dating as far back as the sixteenth century. In the spirit of Manchester Merriment, admission is free from open ’til close, and in the afternoon, kids’ activities galore.  Decorate cookies, tie “clown flies” for the tree, sip hot cocoa, and roast s’mores on the lawn while mom and dad learn to cast from the experts!


Lighted Tractor Parade, Saturday, December 7th, 5:30 pm

Antique and modern tractors adorned in lights and holiday trimmings make their way through town, each uniquely decorated in the spirit of the season. Come and be a spectator! The Parade starts at 5:30 pm. Downtown Manchester Center.


Our House For the Holidays, Saturday & Sunday, December 7th & 8th, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

The Museum Store at Hildene gets dressed in holiday finery for a fabulous open house weekend. In their 100-year-old carriage barn, sample apple cider, Vermont tastings, and fresh cider while you savor the crisp fragrance of fresh pine boughs & sounds of the season. Browse distinctive items for holiday gift giving that will please old and young.


Holiday Inn Tours, Saturdays, December 7th & 14th, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Walk through history and learn more about some of Southern Vermont’s most famous inns during this magical time of year. Inns throughout Manchester, Dorset, and Arlington will be open for visitors. Each location plays host in a unique way, making for a cozy and fun Saturday afternoon in the country.  Discover new digs, give the gift of a getaway, and be inspired by their celebrations! You can purchase a ticket at wherever your first stop is along the way, $15 per person or $25 per couple. Full Moon Hike and Dinner, Saturday, December 14th, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Weather depending, we will hike through Equinox Preserve guided by Rick, our steward of the Equinox Land Trust.  Arrive at Pond Pavilion for a Chef inspired rustic dining experience with a roaring stone fireplace, live music and views of the full moon reflecting on our pond.  Don’t feel like hiking? Take a ride on the Elf Express, Saturday & Sunday, December 21st and 22nd

The magical, musical Elf Express is just what little ones dream of. On the hour-long journey, singing and dancing elves tell the story of Christopher Pop-In-Kins while pint-sized passengers can enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. Plus, a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus! The whole experience takes place aboard vintage Green Mountain Flyers, with five departures from the R.K. Miles Depot Station each day. Make sure to check the FAQs which have all the important details; where to park, when to arrive, bathroom breaks, etc.


Breakfast with Santa — Saturday, December 21st, 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Join us in the Colonnade Ballroom for our regular breakfast buffet and omelet station from 7 am to 11:30 am.  Santa will make a special appearance between 9 am and 11 am for pictures.  Regular pricing for Full Buffet, Continental Buffet or Ala Carte menu.  No reservations taken.


Music To Make Merry, Sunday, December 22nd, 4:00 pm

Counterpoint, under the direction of Nathaniel G. Lew, joins forces with the VSO Brass Quintet to ring in the holidays at Manchester’s First Congregational Church! Under the direction of Nathaniel G. Lew, ring in the holidays in style. The ensemble presents the Vermont premiere of Nancy Tillman’s beloved children’s book, “On the Night You Were Born,” by Vermont composer Travis Ramsey. The program also includes a carol singalong, a brand-new student composition, and traditional favorites arranged by Robert De Cormier. Mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on this seasonal treat—a perfect blend of brass, voices, and good cheer.

Christmas Day Buffet in the Colonnade Room, Wednesday, December 25th, 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

New Year’s Eve Gala Celebration, Tuesday, December 31st, 7:00 pm to 1:00 am

Before you countdown to midnight, dine in our Colonnade ballroom. Enjoy a buffet of delectable appetizers, followed by a plated dinner inspired by local Vermont ingredients, and stay for the New Year’s Eve Countdown, which includes a buffet of various desserts. Complimentary Champagne toast at midnight.  Piano player for cocktails and appetizers, Band from 8:30 pm to 1 am. Cost is $135++ per person, and includes admission to the New Year’s Eve Countdown.
